Paraiba Tourmaline

Precious and exotic, the vivid Paraiba tourmaline was discovered in the Brazilian state of Paraiba in the 1980's.

Today this spectacular copper-bearing elbaite tourmaline is the hottest collector's gemstone. Paraiba glows in the dark due to its high levels of copper and manganese. Recently "Paraiba" tourmaline has been found in Mozambique with shades of mint, pastel greens and blues and even purples.
